Appliqué cushion
These striking geometric cushions are each a unique combination of colours and patterns. It is also a staple of FCW’s training programme Sponsor a Prisoner. Prisoners are given a bag of leftover wool and encouraged to make imaginative use of the colours. This cushion was designed by Tricia Pink, Fine Cell Work’s first volunteer, 17 years ago, and is still a best-seller. You can choose your own colourway, to give a completely unique cushion which works on every sofa and setting.
Patron: "The arts in prison really matter, because whereas government provision concentrates on basic skills, it is often the arts which are the part of 'education' most likely to engage and help people. Fine Cell Work seems to me to provide an inventive way of helping bored and frustrated prisoners find self-expression, discipline and achievement, within the confines of their day. The results are remarkable."
